In short

  • Every call opens with a clear notice that you are speaking to an AI assistant.
  • Voice recordings are off by default; only what the booking needs is kept as text.
  • Data is used solely to create the booking and pass it to the business — never sold.

Roles

Otone provides software that answers phone calls on behalf of businesses. The business you called is the data controller for your personal data; Otone acts as a data processor on that business's instructions. Cloud infrastructure and speech recognition/synthesis providers act as sub-processors; international transfers are handled under the mechanisms required by applicable law (GDPR Chapter V / KVKK art. 9).

What data, and why?

  • What you say during the call (e.g. name, party size, date and time): to create the booking.
  • Call metadata (caller number, time and duration): to operate the service, for security and abuse prevention.
  • A written transcript: so your request is understood correctly and passed on accurately.

Processing relies on the performance of a contract and legitimate interests. Data is not used for marketing; if a use requiring consent ever arises, we ask for it separately.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept for as long as the service requires and in line with the business's instructions; once that period ends it is deleted or anonymised. Businesses can export and delete their own data on request.

Your rights

To access, correct or delete your data, object to processing, or exercise any other right you have under applicable law, contact the business you called (the controller) first. For support from Otone as processor, write to hi@otone.tech. Requests are answered within the statutory periods.
